The Story Code Project

Story Code is an action research project (2023-2026) of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH Program (Cooperation, Internationalization and New Educational Methods).

The Story Code Project is aimed at students and teachers of kindergarten and primary school to introduce new digital languages, computational thinking, and storytelling-based programming skills within the STEAM paradigm (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics).

Seven institutions from four European countries are involved in the project:

  1. Scuola Ladina di Fassa (Italy)
  2. Computer Learning (Italy)
  3. STRIPES Onlus (Italy)
  4. Universidad Europea de Madrid (Spain)
  5. FundaciĆ³n Educativa Francisco Coll (Spain)
  6. Learning Hub Friesland (Netherlands)
  7. Kauno Simono Daukanto progimnazija (Lithuania)

Objectives

ObjectiveResultsDescription
Promote teaching skills in the design of innovative programs for teaching digital languages, computational thinking, and narrative programming within the STEAM paradigm.Training course for teachers (WP2).Creating a training course for teachers, with open educational resources, aimed at designing new curricular strategies and projects on digital languages, computational thinking, and narrative programming within the STEAM paradigm.
Encourage innovative approaches in the curriculum and student competencies towards educational objectives.Narrative Coding Practices Manual (WP3).Implementation, through research and experimentation, of new educational projects in student-centered school contexts on digital languages, computational thinking, and narrative programming within the STEAM paradigm.
Evaluate the impact of the new approach on student learning outcomes.Assessment report of the activities' impact (WP4).Research, through a scientific study, on the methodology and learning outcomes of educational practices focused on computational and narrative STEAM thinking.
Promote the capacity of school institutions and policies to promote and implement a novel approach in the curriculum.Guidelines for the design of teaching programs focused on digital language, computational thinking, and narrative programming within the STEAM paradigm (WP5).Writing guidelines for designing and teaching curricular projects focused on digital languages, computational thinking, and narrative programming within the STEAM paradigm.
